The League Rules ...

  1. The league shall be called the South Molton & District Darts League.
  2. Fees: Registration fee is £30.00 per team plus £20.00 bond. Transfer fee of individual player is £5.00.
  3. Dart board to be 5 feet 8 inches from centre of bull to floor and a distance of 7 feet nine and a quarter inches from face of board 90 degrees to back of raised oche. Appropriate bright lighting is needed on every board.
  4. 24 hours notice of cancellation is required unless there is a very good reason. There is now a week at the end of each quarter for any games not played, if these are not played in this designated week the cancelling team will forfeit points.
  5. There shall be no ‘A’ or ‘B’ teams. Each club entering more than one team shall call the second team by another name. Players must sign for one team only.
  6. Team HQ to be within a radius of 10 miles from South Molton.
  7. A maximum of two divisions shall be run.
  8. Any player having good reason to transfer from one team to another may do so with the consent of the committee. The player shall sign new forms, pay the transfer fee (see rule 2) and shall not play for their new team for a period of seven days from the date of permission being granted.
  9. One or more teams may be entered from one pub/club.
  10. Team individuals and pairs must be handed to the secretary by the date fixed by the committee.
  11. No entry forms from clubs will be accepted after the closing date which is set by the committee.
  12. No protest will be entertained unless sent to the secretary in writing within forty eight hours of the game.
  13. Games to start at 20:30hrs.
  14. Players are to be drawn against each other individually- the home team captain will write one player down,  the away team captain will then write their player. This will be repeated after each game.
  15. The results secretary must be notified by phone, text or result card by the winning team no later than Monday morning after the match. Failure to do so will result in points lost. (please deliver to Rock & Rapid)
  16. Teams not in League not eligible for cup competition entry.
  17. League matches to consist of five singles (best of five legs of 301, double in / double out) and two doubles (best of three legs of 501, flying start / double out). No bust rule applies. Captains cup best of 5 legs 301 double in/double out.
  18. The rulings and decisions of the committee shall be final.
  19. All cup games must be played on or before the date specified in the fixture list.
  20. Top or bottom teams finishing with equal points will play off for final league positions.
  21. If thirteen or more teams enter the league then two divisions will be run.
  22. One team member from each team will attend all committee meetings. Teams not represented will not be included in cup draws.
  23. When a team turns up with insufficient players there is only 2 occasions when 1 player can play twice in 1 night throughout the season.
  24. The committee will deal with any disciplinary action and the committee reserves the right to call any member in front of the committee. Any decision made by the committee will be final.
  25. The committee will deal with any matters arising not covered by these rules and their decision will be final.
  26. Any team that does not honor two away fixtures will be expelled from the league for the remainder of the current season and the following season.
  27. All players in pairs play strictly in the order of the draw. Players finishing a leg cannot throw first in the following leg unless it is the deciding leg and it is their turn to throw for the bull.
  28. No dart may be adjusted in the board when thrown for the bull until the marker has decided who is to throw first.
  29. Where players are drawn in cup matches, any player not there will forfeit their game (no substitutions are allowed).
  30. SUPER LEAGUE PLAYERS: A team can sign on as many South Molton & Witheridge Super League players as they want. They may sign only one Super League player from outside South Molton & Witheridge Super League.
  31. Cup matches to be played in the following formats:
    Pidler Cup: Six singles (501, double in / double out). All legs to count. No bust rule applies. In the event of a draw one player from each team to be drawn out for a play off in the same format as above.
    Bamber Cup: Five singles (501, double in / double out). All legs to count. No bust rule applies.
    Open Singles: Best of five of 301, double in / double out. No bust rule applies.
    Open Pairs: Best of three of 501, double in / double out. No bust rule applies.
    Blind Pairs: Best of three of 501, double in / double out. No bust rule applies.
    Finals Night:
    Team Singles: Best of five of 301, double in / double out. No bust rule applies.
    Team Pairs: Best of three of 501, double in / double out. No bust rule applies.
    Ladies’ Cup: Best of five of 301, double in / double out. No bust rule applies.
    Under 25’s Cup: Best of five of 301, double in / double out. No bust rule applies.
